Moving from Auth0 to Rakomi
This page describes what the move involves and what stays the same for your users. The figures on it are sourced and dated, so you can check every one of them yourself.
We provide EU-hosted authentication with a signed data processing agreement on every plan, published per-plan pricing, bulk user import that preserves your existing password hashes, and the sign-in methods listed below.
You bring your user records with their password hashes, the sign-in methods your users already rely on, their multi-factor enrolments, and any custom claims your application expects to find in a token.
What the move usually turns on
- EU customers or procurement teams asking exactly where authentication data is hosted, and wanting that answer in writing.
- Wanting a signed data processing agreement available on every plan, including the entry tier.
- Wanting the price of every plan published, so a budget can be set without asking anyone.
Moving an authentication provider is real engineering work — plan to test your login flows, session handling and any custom claims before cutting over. The calculator below uses your own numbers rather than a generic estimate.
What you get on every plan
These are part of the baseline, not an upgrade — every plan carries them.
-
Social login
Sign-in with Google, Microsoft, Apple, GitHub, LinkedIn, Facebook, Slack, and GitLab — 8 providers, available to configure on every plan, including Free.
-
MFA / authenticator app (TOTP)
Every user can turn on authenticator-app multi-factor login for their own account, free, on every plan.
-
Magic link
Passwordless sign-in via a one-time emailed link, on every plan.
-
Email one-time code
Passwordless sign-in via a one-time emailed code, on every plan.
-
DPoP-bound tokens with key rotation
Refresh tokens support cryptographic proof-of-possession binding, with automatic rotation and reuse detection, on every plan.
-
Passkeys
Passwordless, phishing-resistant sign-in with device passkeys, on every plan.
-
Step-up authentication
Re-verify identity with a passkey, password, magic link, or email code before a sensitive action — on every plan.
-
Account linking
Users can link multiple sign-in methods (social providers, passkeys, email) to one account, on every plan.
-
User import that preserves password hashes
Migrate existing users in bulk without forcing a password reset — original password hashes are preserved, on every plan.
-
Statutory GDPR baseline
Data processing agreement, sub-processor register, records of processing, and data export/erasure — required by law, so they are never gated behind a paid plan.
